Abstract. This article is devoted to the study of models of sustainable development of rural areas in the region. The relevance of the work is due to the need to combine economic development and the preservation of environmental sustainability of rural areas characterized by specific natural and socio-economic conditions. The aim of the work is to study models of sustainable rural development aimed at achieving a balanced combination of economic growth, social well-being and environmental safety. Research methods: the work uses methods of econometric modeling, system analysis, expert assessments and statistical analysis. Results: the key exponents of the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex as an important production element of the country’s food security are being investigated. The article also analyzes the robotics market and examines its impact on social, economic and environmental aspects. At the same time, the authors conducted research on models of agro-industrial business development aimed at the rational use of natural, environmental and economic resources. Special attention is paid to the development of Russian robotics. The paper considers the important issue of conservation and development of rural areas, especially in the context of sanctions and globalization. The government is taking measures to support agricultural activities and rural areas, but development is uneven.
Keywords: rural areas, sustainable development, economic growth, environmental safety and social responsibility, robotics, artificial intelligence, government support
